There's the cloud storage feature (which I don't need), but it, too, requires an annual subscription. There's the Malware feature, but I've already got multiple Malware apps installed - which are all doing a fine job. And yet, the update really doesn't add any significant improvements. Or, at least be eligible for a good deal on the new version. Since that version had a perpetual license, figured I could just port my old license over to the new version. I had an older version (TI 2019) and figured it was time for an update. (Acronis: note that if they were required, then this review would drop to one star.) Although they are pushing their cloud storage and anti-malware features, they are not required. I saw no discernible changes from my 2020 copy, hopefully it will work better as the 2020 copy was definitively flaky on some systems, I suspect because of the then new tibx backup format. Installed this 2021 version and ran without problems on a Dell 2-in1 Win10. Update: No changes in stars and this will be my last Acronis product. This review will be updated if anything more significant is found. But since I haven't actually installed this 2021 product yet, and will definitely *not* be "upgrading" to the subscription plan, will withhold judgement. I'm tempted to removed another star because the new product (not this one) is subscription only, and not a cheap one at that. Note that although this product is directly from Acronis, if you go to Acronis dot com you'll find they want you to "upgrade" to "Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office" - ATI-2021 isn't offered at all. But 'it' was just an activation key, one has to download, install, create an Acronis account, register, and then use.
